Need help buying software (Mac)

I would like to buy some software titles for my daughter's Palm. Does it matter with software titles that her computer is a Mac? I've noticed that many of the software downloads are offered in a "zipped" format.....isn't that a compressed version for PCs?

I am not very computer savvy, so I appreciate any help you can offer.

I believe you'll need to download software in the .sit format vs. the .zip format for PCs. Sites like PalmGear offer both in the download section of the web page. Hope that helps! :)
