Is there any way to get rid of that "Dataviz" splash screen in Docs To go? I hate that stupid annoying thing. I know what software I'm using, I do not need to be advertized to everytime I use it!

Well, you can say that for every app in Windows too (like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) , other than basics like Notepad, calculator, Internet Explorer, etc. :D

I know, but I especially hate the dataviz thing b/c it stays on-screen for 5 straight seconds. Maybe I'm just impatient. But I absolutely hate being advertised to everywhere I look, I just think it's insulting.

I also hate everybody / everything keeping me waiting, but maybe the splash screen is just a coverup for the slow startup of the program, or not?
I think so because sometimes docstogo startsup very quickly without showing the splash screen.........

Or do you guys always see the splash screen, or after some time?

I seeit every time I open Docs to Go, and it pops up first, and then DtG shows the "searching for supported files" message right after it goes away. Then after about 1 second all my documents pop right up. I think it's just shysty advertising, not slowness.

As a Windows software developer, I have to say, that you are wy off the mark here.:D

Actually, these splash screens are all a waste of time, and they don't do anything (ie the program isn't loading while they are showing up).

The only app I know "works" or loads while showing a splash screen is Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Photoshop:D

I knew it! Why do they put them in the programs if they're just a waste of time? Do they think it warms our feelings toward the company? I know so many people that hate them with a passion, it would be good business for companies to just do away with them.

You know you are using Docs2Go but they want you to remember Dataviz and check for their other software. On my Palm it only shows up the 1st time I use it each day. Uncheck "always search for supported files" and it will start a little quicker.

My 'dataviz' splash screen also starts only the first time each day I go into docstogo, I have no problem with that.

Same here. I forgot to mention that part in my last post in this thread.:o

It only shows up first time using Docs To Go each day.

What version of Docs to go are you running?

Lemme check...it's version 6.005(695). That's what it says anyways, I don't know what the (695) means though.

695 means build number.

For example, say some company releases a product, and they know that a product serial key has been going around the web for a while.

What they would then do is release a newer build, and implement in the software that that particular key is locked and/or illegal. So, if anyone tries to enter it, the software remains locked.
