I'm gonna tap into the pool of knowlede contained here and solicit some opinions on webcams. My current cam, an ancient Kodak DVC323, has served me well, but its low light performance sucks and it's just suffering from general wear and tear. So I'm going to send it to the big parts bin in the sky and get myself a nice modern one. I hear mixed comments on the Logitech cams -mostly that the hardware is generally good, but the software is a disaster. What else is out there? I'm gonna get out to CompUSA and check out what's on display next week, but I wanna hear some opinions from actual use.

I had a Logitech a couple of years ago. Maybe they have come on since then but at the time it was pile of Chihuahua doggy-poo. The software sucked, big time so that's consistent with your impressions about them. It seems you have the right idea about getting opinions, so you have mine, dated as it is. Shop showrooms should definitely show what's available, but I reckon they'll have them mounted on demo machines where there is optimum lighting, so that might present them in a poor light, if you understandable me?
What exactly do you have in mind anyway? Are you thinking of hooking your iQue up to others. They could take over the world if we are not careful.
