Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Wilshire Blvd missing in address search?

I have all California maps in my iQue. When I search for an address, there are major streets missing, like Wilshire and Sepulveda in Los Angeles. If I place the cursor on, say, Wilshire and do a POI search, it finds stuff on Wilshire. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong?

Hmmm. I just did an address search for 2500 Wilshire (just made an address up) with the California region chosen and Wilshire was in the list of streets to select. After I hit the Search button, it found the address in LA.

Pelle, I just did a search for 1105 N Sepulveda Blvd. SE Los Angeles, CA 90049 in QueFind with no problems.

This is weird - yesterday there was no Wilshire Blvd and today there is. Yesterday I did not get in QueFind any Santa Monica zip codes either - today I do. This has happened to me before but this time this no-find lasted a few days.
I even tried changing the map a little and MapInstalling the maps - no cigar... oh well, one of this mysteries of life.... Thanks !

Do I dare ask for the brand of your SD-card?

I'll bet you hit it on the head Anders. Probably has a Sandisk SD card.

Hi, Pekkle,
I just have to agree with Anders. I have both a SlowDisc and a PanicSonic. Both are 256's. There is no comparison. I finally just use the sandisc as a spare. Everything I really want is on the panasonic. I averaged 3-4 resets a day with the same info on both discs. In fact I HotSynced both discs one after the other.
From feb 23 to feb 28 I had 15 resets with the sandisc. On the 28th I put the Panasonic in. As of the 4th of mar. I had 1 softie caused by yours truly. I know what the stats say, but to tell the truth, I dont see a lot of difference in the speed. Either reading or writing. The Panasonic seems to draw maps a bit faster but I have done no real tests. Just my observations in day to day use.
I use a lot of maps and am going to buy a 512 Panasonic. I hope my luck continues.......

I find it hard to believe that you could be on this forum long enough to post 185 times and still innocently ask, “what’s wrong with SanDisk?” I could even understand not agreeing with the many who are anti-SanDisk but I find it hard to believe that you could be unaware of the general sentiment.

It's getting weirder - today there is again no more Wilshire Blvd. And QueFind Addresses shows only about 10 zip codes!

Are you people telling me that my SanDisk 256Mb SD card is causing all this? Those cards seem to work fine in my cameras..

The general meaning is that there is nothing wrong with the SanDisk cards in themselves. It's the combination iQue and SanDisk that goes awry.
Why I do not know. I sent my first iQue, with my troublesome SanDisk card, to Garmin's engineers, so that they should have a troublesome unit to test. Of course, it works perfectly for them, although they did find that it was very slow, compared to Toshiba or Panasonic.

In a camera, the same card may work very well. The SanDisk card I had was faster when writing to it than the Toshiba, but the Toshiba is much faster when reading. A camera writes a lot, the iQue reads (maps) a lot.
