Hi thanks for replying. I would like to know if i were to implement a "network.exe" (that builds on top of WinpCap), am i able to sell it directly? or maybe post it on the internet? Is WinpCap a freeware? What are the rules that i have to conform in order to sell my application - network.exe together with WinpCap in a package? Thanks a million~:)

you should refer to the license of the library.
you should read some more.
1st - read the licesing issues of this lib at its homepage.
it is somewhat BSD like.
you should see www.gnu.org -> licenses
on free, " contageous" and "non-contageous" versions.
and also refer to BSD license - www.freebsd.org -> hang around.

basically i think the libpcap is BSD licensed, + u have to add authors disclaimer, so yes, you can link to this lib, and spread programs, but you should add to the EULA the note that u used the lib, and add "README" or link to the authors - to make sure
you respect their wish.

but for legal correctnes -- simply read the license yourself.

cheers.

Hi again and thanks for replying to my message.
Um, i would like to know are there any other packet capture libraries that are currently available that can replace WinpCap?? Or in other words, does the current market have any replacement for WinpCap?

May i know what is the difference between Ethereal and WinpCap? Are they the same (in functions wise, do they both support Win32 platform)? Sorry for troubling...

Thank you.:)
