I have the same problem. I have visited quite a few sites and locations and have not been able to find a solution. I found the following on Palm's website:
http://205.141.210.148/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=21,E=0000000000425157664,K=8717,Sxi=19,useTemp late=Case.tem,CASE=1941

Follow these steps to enable IR HotSync on your Windows computer:
1.Click the HotSync Manager icon in the Windows system tray.
2.Make sure Local Serial is checked in the menu.
3.Choose Setup.
4.Click the Local tab.
5.In the Serial Port drop-down box, select the COM port that is given as the simulated port in the Options tab of the Infrared Monitor.
6.Click OK.

I have not been able to get an COM port associated with the IR Comm driver in Win XP. If someone can make a suggestion it will be much appreciated.
