Hi, I just got a g1000 to replace my Visor Prism with Sprint phone module. I like many of the features, but some things about this thing are annoying me!

I don't want to pile them all in one message and I think many of the things I don't like are due to unfamiliarity with this operating system.... so let me start with the fact that when you plug in the headset all the sounds, including the ringer, play only through the headset.

First of all, the headset shouldn't be optional with this ginormous device. You can't hold it up to your ear without looking like a dork and being completely uncomfortable.

I understand that when you plug in headphones it's normal for the speaker to be bypassed, but I don't want to have to keep the headset in my ear all day just so I won't miss a call. Or, have to unplug it in-between calls and have to fumble around to plug it back in for every incoming call.

Seems like it should be able to tell the difference between a headset and headphones and only direct the phone conversation through the headset. grrrr

I got this over the Treo 600. because I work with spreadsheets everyday and I wanted a bigger screen. Also the Treo qwerty is small for me. Some of these bugs are making me want to take this thing back, however.

Well I decided to call Sprint today and they told me that the phone ringer should still work with the headset plugged in. So, since I’ve had it less than 14 days, they told me to just take it back an get a new one. We’ll see…

I tried replying to this, but I guess two replies to your own message aren't allowed? Anyway, my G1000 isn't defective. I decided to keep it anyway and I really love it inspite of it's flaws.
