Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Different exit number in Map mode and routing.
last night at i was driving on I-95 in south Florida, the iQue was in map mode and I notice all the upcoming Exits was the old Exit # not the new exit # update recently( it doesn't matter what the zoom scale is in map mode it alway show the old exit #), at the time i notice this the iQue zoom scale was in 800ft, i tried to zoom out all the way and zoom in all the way, same thing show the old exit #.
but when try a route home, it show the new update exit #, the zoom scale has no effect on how it show the exit #.
I knew the base map use the old exit # and detail map use the new update exit #, but in map mode it always use old exit #(base map?) even the zoom scale say detail map. Is it a bug? I am using R3.

Your observations are correct.
It's not a bug, but the intended functionality.
Whether that's good or not, that's another question. The answer may be obvious.
but why it is not using the detail map instead in map mode, as it is already using the detail map to show local upcoming street and intersection, and I-95 exit info is in the detail map.
Why only when you are on I-95 and it decide to use use the base map?
I think I should disable the basemap when i am in the area which the detail is availbe on the memory. Is that a way to disable base map without remove it from the memory?

You can disable the basemap, but if that makes any difference regading the display of the exits, I don't know.
I suspect that the exits given on the detailed maps will never show, if they are like all other POIs. Then they aren't dead on the road, but just beside it, to avoid being mixed with the basemap POIs, which do sit dead on the road.
I just take a look at the detail map exit info, they are not POI, it like a split lane on the highway, and the exit ramp has the exit number on it like a street with name, i would supect it will show like up coming street name in the detail map. BTW how to disable the base map without remove it from the memory?
That's why i don't understand how it decide to use the base map info instead of the detail map info.

GPS - Preferences - Maps - Misc, then tick or untick basemap and/or detailed maps as desired.
I don't really know either. There are no exit markings on the detailed maps around where I live, so I gues I'll not find out today either.
thanks for your tips,
I will let you know when i have a chance to get on the interstate.
Last night on I-95 again, in map mode with base map disable (not remove) the exit info still the same using the info in the base map.
next time i will remove the base map and test it and see what happen.

Which is what could be expected, considering that searching for POIs will generate the same result, regardless of whether the corresponding maps are enabled or not.
