I am still pondering on whether to upgrade my Series 7 to a 7Book. I mainly use it for GCSE Coursework, playing the occaisonal game and a few databases and all the PIM functions. I am wanting to connect to the internet using my Nokia 7210 phone using GPRS (got patch from PSI NT).

Is it worth spending £116 on this upgrade for my use.

Also, does anyone know where in the UK I could source a Colorgraphic VGA Card. I already have Presentation Maker. Works in colour on Series 7 too!

I don't really want to pay more than £100 for this. Finally, can I use a Canon BJC-50 portable printer via Infared Red with my Series 7?

Thanks

Seb

Hi,

I think that most people would agree that the upgrade would be a worthwhile upgrade, though not necessarily essential. The machine is more stable, and definitely faster.

As for the colorgrahics card, you could have a look at the thread regarding the card, theres a couple of pointers where you could get the card from. I use it to display Powerpoint presentations, I hardly use presentation maker as its way too tedious to work on right now.

Yep I agree with what alfaloco has to say completely. If you use your 7 alot then the increased speed, brought on by the processor is a nice addition. Also with the added ethernet capabilities, you can obtain your email/browse the web much faster with a wired/wireless connection.

You can buy a Voyager Colorgraphic VGA PMCIA card from Pulster (www.pulster.de) in Germany. I just ordered one for my mBook. He charges EUR 119.- for this plus EUR 15.- for (insured) delivery abroad, so EUR 134.- in total. This equals about GBP 92,- SitaShop in Kuala Lumpur which is usually cheap, charges $300.- for this card!

Cheers,
Frits

Our friend, alfaloco has written a simple review of Colorgraphic VGA Card.

Read it HERE (http://www.i-symbian.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=9).
