to all members of palmblvd and especially to all moderators.

i believe there is a palmblvd member (i use the term loosely)
going by the name ianf in his emails (this may not be his
palmblvd handle) who is sending viruses to computers. he has
sent me a virus attachtment saying this is a very powerful
tool, i hope you will like it.

lucikly, my virus protection picked it up immediately when i
opened outlook express to check my mail.

i urge all members of palmblvd to be alert when reading your
email and if you are not using virus protection, do not open
emails with or without attachments if you do not know who
the sender is.

to the jerk ianf who is doing this, get a life.

Before condemning him, know that the Klez.e worm and its variants take e-mail addresses randomly from the Web and uses them as its Sender address. The virus may not have been sent from ianf, and it may never have even been on his computer.

I received an e-mail from the mail server of a company I'd never e-mailed, saying a message from my Yahoo account had been intercepted and had a virus attached. Funny thing is I NEVER send ANYTHING from my Yahoo account; it's just a "spam dump" account I use for incoming mail.

I never believe the sender address or subject line of any e-mail which contains a virus. They're usually random.

just to clear up any misunderstanding regarding my post.

i never said this person was definitely a palmblvd member,
i said i suspected he was from emails i had received from a
member named ian who wanted to buy a palm from me but
didn't like the price and was plain acting like a jerk. i found this
to be coincidental and hope that is all it is.

the alert about the virus was intended to protect palmblvd
members and moderators.

the intent was to urge all of you to use virus protection
whether or not the virus was sent from a palm blvd member
or not. take the advice or don't. it's your computer.
