In an interview with the BBC, palmOne CEO Todd Bradley definitely revealed that palmOne will be launching new devices in April. The company has recently been hinting at a line of Treo products and other reports indicate new Zire models coming soon.

In the interview with BBC News Todd Bradley states, "People can expect new devices, to be unveiled next month, to provide much more in terms of multimedia storage so that they can take their favourite images, music, video and other files with them when they are out and about, as well as giving them a link back to the office or to their e-mail. A large piece of our work right now is how we create a family of Treo products, but we are about offering choice."

Last week palmOne shares jumped on an analyst upgrade and comments about a upcoming line of different Treo products. Bradley said the company would eventually have a full line of Treos ranging from "good, better and best." Reports also recently surfaced that palmOne may release a version of the Treo 600 without a built in camera.

Zire 31, Zire 71 Update
There has also been recent speculation and possible leaks on other new handhelds. palmOne is said to be preparing a low cost, color screen Zire 31. PIC was also the first to report rumors of a possible Zire 71 replacement. The new unit is said to have a integrated 1.3 mega-pixel digital camera and will include Bluetooth wireless networking. The handheld will run on a 300 MHz Intel chip, and have 32MB of RA

When you click on this article, courtesy of the sharp-eyed KimH, be sure and click on the underlined "BBC NEWS" link - that will take you to another spot, where on the right side there are 4-5 other articles that are also a very good, but short, read.

Thanks KH! It seems things are getting much better financially for palmOne (as spoken of in the other articles), and the new products won't be THAT radical. I'm in a way relieved, because the T3 won't be outdated now til Fall or even early next year; I'm sure some of you (and perhaps myself included) will POUNCE on OS6 to try it out, but in the meantime it gives me a good deal of satisfaction to know palmOne are letting us get our "money's worth" out of the T3.

If the new generation had been "likkety-split lightning quick," immediately on the heels of MANY of us purchasing a T3 lately, I'd feel like they had the next 2 generations in their labs and were just on a money making binge. Apparently the T3 WAS the best at the time of release, with nothing "hidden in a drawer."

Good for palmOne. And all the best to them the remainder of this year and (more importantly . . .) next year.

I for one will not buy an OS6 device.:)

I know that OS6 is released in speed and lack of time, and it is not mature.
