so far I havnt had much luck with PDAs. I had a Visor DLX which was great til the crappy casing split, thus breaking the screen. then at the urgent recommendation of a friend I bought a sony s360,stupid me. Fine,it comes with good memory and software, but I cant use the Wi-Fi that is set up at my school. So now I am selling the Sony and looking for something that has a wireless LAN module for it. I have thought about Pocket PCs but they seem too expensive. And while higher end Palms are cheaper, I have this nagging feeling that as soon as I spend the money something a whole lot better will come along. Can anyone give me some reccomendations as to a PDA that doesnt give any indication of going away for the near future and has an affordable wireless LAN adapter(I have seen those 300 dollar Xircoms, forget that). I dont use a whole lot of memory so 8mb is probably good enough and color is not a must either. Any reccomendations would be helpful. Thanks.

The Xircom Springport Wireless Ethernet Springboard module is selling for about $90. It has dropped from about $300, I think. If you could still get a Visor and the module, they would be a nice combination. - since that's basically what you were looking for.
good luck!

first off, do NOT get a ppc. the new sony NX-70v just came out, and it has a compactflash slot for an 802.11b card. the new tungsten t has bluetooth built in. both run Palm OS 5.0. a bit pricey though.

Like Jay8533 said, he's not for the pricy ones. I believe he said something like "I saw one of the $300 ones before, for get those...) And I the new Sony is even [way] more expansive than $300.

Linksys, Netgear, and D-Link currently make WiFi (802.11b) CompactFlash cards. They sell around $60 - $75. All you need is a PDA with a CompactFlash slot to connect with your WiFi at school. I know Handera 330 uses the Palm OS and has a CF slot. Most other PDAs with CF slots are PocketPCs. If you can wait until early next year, SyChip will release a WiFi Secure Digital card that you can use in a Palm m130, m500, m505, m515, etc. The first 3 would cost from $200 - $300. Hope this information helps.

just a warning... read posts from anyone who's owned a ppc. everyone I've heard from said it was one of the worst choices of their lives. I've never owned one (luckily), so I can't say anything from experience, but be careful.
