hi
i was wondering if there are any good freeware for cleaning up unnecessary files/ duplicate files and such like from the Q ?...something similar to those utilities you have for the PC. Also if there is any need for defrag of the memory etc...(is it required?)

anything out there...

Defragging is not necessary. I don't know of any programs that will flag duplicate files. The closest thing is Cleanup which will remove orphan preference files.

thanks for the response.

cleanup is a software...or a process that you need to do once in a while.

If a process could you please let me know how to go about it? If it is a software... do you have the link?

Thanks

Since the Palm stores all files in one big heap (in internal memory, that is), there can't be any duplicate files. If there are, then they must have different names, and then they aren't duplicates.

But it's true that there may be orphaned files, which weren't properly deleted, when the application which created them was deleted.

Once I had duplicate files. In fact I had duplicate icons in my launcher. It happened after I restored from Backupman and the files were open. Instead of overwriting they became duplicate.
