Okay, I must be just unlucky. My third iQue has a problem.

The first one had the acquiring satellites problem, the second had no audio except in the cradle. Now for the third.

I received it last Wednesday, brand new unit. On Saturday I took a trip to Euclid, OH. Worked fine all the way there and back. When I got home I saved my tracks and then did a hotsync. My computer locked up during the hotsync. This has happened frequently before, no big deal. I did a soft reset of the iQue and for good measure did a reboot of my PC. I tried the hotsycn again and this time the screen went white. It was on, but no icons or anything else visible on the screen. Tried a hard reset, nothing changed. Now when inserted into the cradle the green light wouldn't even come on. Out of the cradle it would turn on but with the white screen. This is the way it stayed for three days. I would check occasionally but still the white screen. All of this time it was out of the cradle. Now, today on a whim I once again turned it on. This time it was dead, no white screen or anything. So I put it in the cradle....LIFE! The green light came on immediately. So I turned it on....NORMAL. Everything was just as I left if Saturday night.

So now I am very confused. Evidently the battery drained the days I left it off the cradle and now after that is is fine. Could it be that something was goobered up and left running causing the white screen and that the battery had to run down to release the loop?

And the biggest question is do I keep this unit or RMA and be safe?

I’m not joking, sounds like they sent you the one I RMA'ed.

After going back and reading your post again I would almost have to agree that I got yours....except that mine was brand new in the box (smile)!

It is working normally now. Did yours ever recover?

The thing is, I already requested a RMA first thing Monday morning. And it still wasn't working then. Now the new one is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

So now what do I do? Do I swap them out anyway and play it safe? Or do I send the new one back upopened and stick with this one and see if it happens again?

Advice please!

Swap it out. Put a note with your explanation of what happened with the unit you're returning and why it now appears to work. No matter what, what occurred shouldn't have happened. At the least, a hard reset should have "cured" it. Believe me, it's easier than trying to explain why you don't want the new one and trying to get it returned for credit.

Robin,
Mine was RMA’ed and as far as I know, never recovered. As far as your other concern I would go with what Don13 said, it seems perfectly logical.
