I can't seem to capture a map screenshot with this program. I assume I am doing something wrong.

Can anyone tell me what settings they use i.e.

Trigger

Delayed

What do the SILK Screen and HARD Key settings do ?

I'm lost and I don't mind admitting it

:o

I can set the Trigger to HARD Key Page down, and holding the page down capture the Screenshot screen, but try and use it with a map and it does nothing apart from zooming.

Help me  I'm loosing it !

Have you:

(a) set it to enabled? There is a tickbox at the top of the startup screen.

(b) you need to hold the selected key that does the capture for about a second or so. A single press will be intercepted by the map, not screenshot itself.

(c)Trigger is a one-off event. You press the button to capture. Using a delay is useful if you want to hold screenshot in wait mode while you complete some other task at which point it fires. Most of use use single trigger mode.

(d) The silk screen setting includes the grafitti area, otherwise not.

(e) Have you paid and registered? Otherwise the nag screen will appear at random position on the image.

(f) You need to install the conduit (also on the LinkeSoft website) as you need that to get the images onto your PC.

Hope this helps.

I never used the desktop application but used PFB to move screenshots to the desktop from the screenshot5 folder.

OK here are the settings I'm using

Screen shot set up screen

Trigger - Calendar
Delayed - Page up
Delayed time 0 secs
Beep Include Silkscreen both checked

When I press calendar in that screen, I get a nice shot of the setup screen.

Switching to Map view and pressing Calendar and holding gives me....

Yes, you guesssed it, the calendar cycling through all it's modes rapidly!

Doh, I feel daft here

Anyone got any more suggestions as to why this won't work ?

I've configured my screenshot exactly the same as you used. When I press the calendar button (bottom left) it does do a screenshot. You are holding it down for a couple of seconds?

I've got mine set so if you swipe on the VG area from the routing silkscreen button to find, you have a 5 second delay. Swipe, witch back (really quick) to what you want to take a picture of and minimize the VG area.

I've included a screenshot (!) with my settings.

Fav refers to the Favorite button, which on the iQue is replaced with the routing button. So when I swipe the stylus from Find to Route, it will take a screenshot immediately.
If I do it the other way, it will wait for six seconds, to give me time to arrange something, which otherwise would be ruined by the tap and swipe to trigger the screenshot.
The swipe works on both the task bar and in the VG area, when that's open.

Thanks Anders,

I have set my IQ up exactly as your photo. I can take a snapshot of the set up screen by either using FAV - Find or Find Fav, giving me instant or delayed.

What I then tried to do is Fav to Find, then I switched apps to the Map and it does not capture. I am thinking that maybe the Screenshot programme closes when I switch to the map?

Any help appreciated.

Edit: I think i should first try and then write. Fav to Find works well.... Maybe you have another program that prevent Screenshot from working? In the manual stated that some Graffiti extensions preventing Screenshot from work.

Gruß,

Mike, are you saying you are doing exactly what I have done and it works ?

In other words do you trigger the screenshot, then switch to MAP and it captures the map?

I have no other program running in the background, or any graffiti extensions so I do not think that is a problem.

Then i press the Q button to switch to map-view and after the delay of 6 seconds I see the 'ScreenShot OK' and the saved pic is the map.

What's wrong with capturing the map image as it is? The Find to Fav stroke works just as well on the tool bar at the bottom of the screen, and that one doesn't go away when you open the map application.
Actually, it doesn't go away whatever you do.

I have the Up button set to capture - even in Map view if you hold it down ScreenShot does it's thing. The delay is .5 sec.

Why sit there and wait for 5 or 6 seconds?

In Acreage, clicking the down button stores a position for area measurement. Continuing to hold the button down for three seconds makes Screenshot act. So the downbutton fullfiles a double action. I have disabled DisableButtons now that R3 takes care of earlier button problems.

I've removed the "sit on up/down to take a screenshot" feature, since I found that it interferes with continious zooming of the map image. I don't do that many screenshots that it makes any difference to me.

Well silly me !!

I moved the screenshot program to the IQUE from the SD card and sure enough it works :D

Thanks for all the help.

I guess running it from card with Power Run wouldn't be a good idea either:p

I don't have power run so don't know the implications.

BTW Jonas I visited Monschau on Sunday and then ended up in Bad Münstereifel. Very nice but Betty threw a wobbler as they say, on road between Roetgen ( if I spelt it correctly) and Monschau. The area just after you pass the old Tank traps and start climbing a huge hill, she decide we were lost on the straight road and gave us the "off route " I wonder if she does that when you cross from one country maps to another, as that area is on the Belgium border.

Also surprised that she worked in the Monschau valley as it is so steep and wooded, and she was working from the internal antenna.

You've visited more of the area than I have.

Betty will announce sat reception lost if sat geometry is too bad for calculating a position. I saw that for the first time yesterday with the antenna just outside the window and the iQue on my desk. Betty announced reception lost. There were four sats with good signals, but they happened to be aligned along a straight line.

I've never noticed any problems crossing country borders. Obviously, we do it alot:)

I've never even tried to drive in a montaneous area without an external antenna on the roof of the car. Even though it might work sometimes, I can't see why I should do it. Once in a while I check how the internal antenna works while walking and I then conclude that, alas, it did not in some mysterious way improve.

PowerRun is a great program to save RAM space. Easy to use. But you have to pay and register. Once you put apps on the card with power run, you can't reach them when the demo expires. Well, I guess that some could be moved with FileZ but I didn't try that. However, having Screenshot on card with Power Run would defeat the idea of taking shots while displaying another app.
