I had an occasion to use Que Find for an address (not in my address list) in California and Que Find was just showing me cities, zip codes for NJ. My current location was NJ. I had all of California, Arizona and portion of NJ detailed maps installed which were working correctly when I tapped and zoomed in on those areas from the base map.
I noticed that on the address page of Que Find that the top right drop down "Region" menu item was missing. Documentation in the updated manual mentions that is is there. The only way I can do a find for a location in California is to set new location for California. This kind of defeats the purpose of Find if you have to know where you want to search or have to select a particuliar detailed map in Map select. If I knew all of that I do not need Que Find. I remember this working correctly in R2. Anyone else experienced the same thing?

Did you try picking the region before entering the address? Works for me.

That is the problem. I cannot pick the region because the region drop down menu is missing. If I set new location to an area in the state and close to where I want the info, then Que Find will work and have the correct zip codes etc., but still the region drop down is missing. Its almost like the IQ thinks that only the portion of the detailed maps are loaded that correspond with my current position. I have already reinstalled the detailed maps but that did not fix the problem. The Que Find appears not to be global anymore.

Check Preferences, Que, Maps, Detailed Maps and make sure the maps you want to use are checked.

They are all checked and I can zoom in to individual streets if I manually tap on any area covered by the detailed maps in any one of the 3 states. The small squares also show on the overview of the US in the 3 states indicating which detailed maps are installed and recognized.
What are you showing on the address page of Que Find? Do you have the "region" drop down menu showing?

Yes, I have the drop down menu for "region". Sounds like your iQue is not functioning normal. Try a soft reset and if still not working try a hard reset after backing everything up. I'm using Release 3 so I don't think that's an issue.

Are you giving the region menu a minute or two to "pop up" before giving up? My personal experience has been that the region menu's speed of appearing is related to the number of detailled maps installed. This can be slowed even more by using one of the slower SanDisk cards. Again, this is just my personal experience/opinion; your mileage may vary.

try soft reset.
I have that problem when i first got my iQue, no region field selection, but after many update to mapsource and map installed program, i don't have that problem any more.
Any way I solved the problem by rebuiding the detail maps.

I waited 5 minutes and no region field popped up. I think I will take the suggestion to rebuild the maps before trying a hard reset. That will have to wait until I am off from work. Will let you know the results. Thanks

Sorry, I thought you did that already when you said you reinstalled the detailed maps but maybe you just copied them with a card reader. Good luck.

I started to think maybe MapSource 6 beta had a problem so I card read some detail maps made from V5.4 and Region was now present. Then I rebuilt the same maps I was having the problem with using V6 beta and had Region again. So I guess with the first build I did last week something went awry and things are now back to normal. Thanks for all your inputs!:)

The regions I get here are by country. Right now, it lists Danmark, Deutschland, Nederland, Norge and Sverige.
Are regions by state if you use the North American CS maps?

That is correct, in the US, regions are listed by states. Only the states that you have a detailed map sector loaded for will be listed. Some of the sectors along the borders of some of the states actually encompass a small portion of the neighboring state so that state will also be listed.

The same here, as far as countries go. I have a small part of Holland as a "freebe", hence the Nederland reference above.
