I've had my ique for 3 weeks and the touch screen died. Buttons work great and the system worked great until the touch screen died. I've noticed a bunch of RMA with the ique. Is this something to expect with the ique? I just RMA'ed mine today. Garmin is great in customer support, but is it because their units break all the time?

Well not all of them but the IQ a lot. Let them have it replaced - it saves time for boht parties. So far I've had a new one every second month.

I too am concerned about this, since I've had a Garmin GPSIII+ for many years now, and have never had a problem.. it's only been a month and I already have a broken iQue.. However, in their defense, what I typically hear breaking is the internal antenna, and of those that have had a replacement come back, they haven't had problems.. Mine also broke as I was updating to release 3, which I'm just assuming is similar to flashing a computer's BIOS, which is simple in and of itself, but it also has drastic consequences if done wrong. I'd have to say that if I have to RMA this second one, I'll be seriously thinking about selling it and buying a 60cs

Never used anything other than version 3. As soon as I got it I loaded version 3 per their web site. Worked great for 3 weeks. Impressed the hell out of my co-workers on a trip to San Diego when we had to find a bar no one knew how to get too. They all were going to go buy one, but I put them all on hold, especially since I've seen all the other people who have had to have their's RMA'ed. I treated mine with kid gloves and one day the screen wouldn't respond to touch. Mailed it to Garmin today.
