Thanks to someone a while back who mentioned that a problem like what I had might be solved by a ground loop isolator, I finally went to Radioshack and picked one up. (item 270-054) It works great, does the job perfectly. Before, anytime I would plug in my 12V DC charger cable into the iQue and power it off my car, I would get some pretty bad humming when I played voice/mp3s through my car stereo, via the phono mini plug port on the front of the deck (I'm loving that feature now). Now, the sound is great, mp3s sound really good through the speakers, and so does Betty's voice. I was going to eventually going to get an FM modulator or tape deck adapter, but I'm glad this worked, since the audio quality through the phono plug is much better.

The only thing I don't like about the radioshack model is that the wires are kinda long. If anyone knows where I can find one that has shorter wires, and preferably has phono plugs at the ends instead of RCA (right now I'm using RCA to phono adapters on both sides), please let me know!

Before insrerting a ground loop insulator, one could simply try drawing a common ground wire between the power plug, the car stereo and possibly the phone jack that goes into the iQue.

Here is one ground loop isolator with shorter wires (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/csexpo/b2bogrlois.html)

But I'd just (let somebody) solder a phono plug to the long wires instead, now that you got a working installation. Should be done in less than ten minutes.

Here (http://www.xitel.com/product_gli.htm) is a more expensive one with short cable on one side and none on the other.

PS I haven't gotten around to trying this to solve the noise issue when using the iRock FM modulator. It's good to know it helped in your application.
