Greetings -
Just got my third iQue back from RMA and when I did what I always do in terms of entering the unlock codes, etc., the maps would not unlock.
Garmin is closed today - HELP!
They are added to my card but now what do I do?
Thansk,
Ron

Your new unlock codes, the 25 digit code, must be entered on your PC via Mapsource.
Open Mapsource, go to Utilities and Unlock maps, then introduce your new codes and you must get the maps unlocked to your iQue.

Did that and did not work.
When I sync'd Betty, the maps loaded but it noted that they were not unlocked?
Another first.

Perhaps you still get unlocked maps inside your iQue, I mean previous maps transferred but not unlocked yet. So try to delete those maps.

Here is what I did -
Inserted SD card with maps on it
Reformatted SD card
THOUGHT I unlocked maps and loaded to card
Sync'd - took 2 hrs. since I am using a 512 card and loaded 437mb
Maps loaded to card (checked the memory)
Went to open maps - NG - not unlocked
Wonder what we folks do on weekends when Garmin is closed.
Glad we have the board.
Do I have to reformat the whole system? I pray not.

No need to reformat, only delete through te option on the iQue menu, the maps that could no have been unlocked previously.

But then I have to reload maps?

Indeed, maps would have to be loaded again once you have introduced the unlock 25 digits on your PC. Now everything would have to work right.
Think that maps get ready on your PC and Mapsource, fixed with your iQue serial number to be introduced only on your iQue.

I can't help with your unlock problem but I can't believe transfering your maps tooks over 2 hrs! Unless you have a very very slow SD card.
I have a 512 Panasonic card. I loaded (with my new RMA unit) 137 MB of maps in just 10 minutes. So going by that you should have completed the process in about 30 minutes. Unless I am way off base here.

Start simple. Take the card out and load the basic basemap. Test. Now load a very small detail map to the iQue. Test it. Next delete the detail map and load a small one on the card. The point of this is to get you up and running. There is no sense in loading 300 MB of maps until you can get a small one working.

I believe that Garmin only allows two units to be unlocked for a given map product. Have you tried removing your old unit's unlock code from MapSource.

Decided to take the LONG route.
Completely uninstalled and reinstalled all software.
Works just like an iQue! *G*
