Help! Lost all files on ipac during sync!

Help! I purchased an ipac 3835. had it sync'd with my laptop. I deleted all of the files off of the laptop. I had a lot of word files on the ipac. I went to sync the ipac to the laptop, and lost all but four word files!

Can anyone help or tell me if the files are permanently gone, or whether it's possible to get them back?

If you made a backup before that sync, they might be there. Other than that I think your screwed. They might be in your recycle bin but I doubt it.
