Is it a good idea to purchase the Secure Digital Memory Scan Disk 256mb card which cost is over $130 for the IPAQ 3935. I heard that SD is not much faster or any advantages over the other CF cards (MMC), which are cheaper. But again, this is the newest model by Compaq, is this any better to use the SD or just get the less expensive CF or something else (for music
listening.... )
Thank You

will wait for respones before i buy it.......

I purchased an Ipaq 3955 about three months ago. PERFECT in every way except the 64 mb of memory which ran out in about 5 days.

Personally I think it's a great idea with the 256mb card. I bought one the week I ran out of memory so I've been using it now for awhile. Your right about the speed. It's not much different from the MMC card to the SD, since Compaq updated the speed transfer from the cards to the ipaq.

I have a 35 song playist on my 256mb SD card (and still have room for more!) and I have played the entire thing with no freezes, breakups, etc. You only have to wait about three seconds longer for songs to load compared to when they are on the Ipaq's memory itself.

To make a long story short, I believe MMC cards only go up to 24 or 32 mb. NOT very big considering the average mp3 file is 4mb. If you're only interested in songs, and not very many stored at one time, then I would tell you to buy the cheaper MMC card. However in the real world where there is never enough space, I think you would be happier in the long run with the 256 mb SD card. I bought mine for $124 + $6 shipping on ebay. :D

I use the 256MB SanDisk SD with no problems. I started with the Toshiba 128MB SD but needed more space. Now I am anxiously awaiting the availability of a resonably priced 512MB.
