Dear List,
I am using my 5151 at work to check e-mail and visit some web sites, using Eudora's Palm e-mail and web browser.
Questions:
1) Eudora Mail doesn't appear to let me go directly to a website via a hyperlink in an e-mail. Are there any software programs that do so?
2) I want to check the stock market (the DOW, S&P, etc) during the day. Are there any financial (or news, for that matter)websites optimized for PDA viewing...ones that eliminate lots of the graphics and other stuff?
Thanks.
Bob

Bob,
Try www.ilinx.co.jp/en/ for the browser.
Some Palm friendly news URLs are
http://pda.ananova.com
http://news.bbc.co.uk/low/english/pda
http://www.guardian.co.uk/avantgo/
http://in-109.infospace.com/info.avant/

http://pda.onlineweather.com
http://pocket.usatoday.com/palm/
http://www.vizzavi.co.uk/pda

You might find that this list is a little UK centric.

Regarding having the ability on the Palm to hyperlink from an email I don't believe that is available with OS 4.1.
There are a number of Web Clipping application that were developed for use with the Palm VII and they work great. Bloomberg, BigCharts and WSJ.com can be found on the Palm site; link below.

PS: I use the HandSpring browser "Blazer" and it has short cut links to at least half a dozen more financial site. I used Eudora for a short time then reviewed all of the browsers and purchased Blazer.

Dear Nigel and DrMud,
Thank you for your replies. A few of those sites looked like they might be what I need.
Question: I know that there are lots of websites optimized for the Palm via Avantgo. Do you know if the actual website addresses of these sites are available anywhere?
I went to the Avantgo website and saw sample screens...but the screens didn't show the actual addresses.

Your question sounds simple enough but I am not sure what you mean when you say "the actual address" of the site. Avantgo has address to the optimized site. The web-clipping address basically goes to the optimized site. In my mind the "actual address" would be to the full "non optimized" site. Am I headed in the right direction?

Hi Doc,
My question may have been unclear because I probably don't know what I'm talking about! <g>
I don't use Avantgo, but I thought it downloaded Palm-optimized websites to one's handheld. For example, I assume that CNN has a Palm-optimized website somewhere, and that Avantgo is just accessing it somehow.
I guess I've assumed that several major websites might have Palm-optimized mini-sites somewhere. After all, with so many web-enabled cell phones these days...I'd think that websites made for tiny, slow screens would be everywhere.

Bob,
I like you have wondered where all of the PQA addresses are being stockpiled. A few months ago you could find them easily on Palm.com now Palm seems to have hidden them.
