Problem on 5810 & 6710 with PST Files [Archive]

I had no problem filing messages to my personal folder when using the 957 with Office XP and BlackBerry Desktop v 2.1. Later, I tested a 5810 and currently have a 6710 beta device. With both the 5810 and the 6710, I run into problems when I link to my personal folder. The option to file messages disappears, the device becomes unstable and I end up having to reload it.

I enjoy the 6710 immensely, but wish I could file messages to my personal folder. Any suggestions???

Well, I finally found the solution to my problem. Following a suggestion from our T-Mobile technical rep, I decided to "bite (or byte) the bullet" and create a new Personal Folder. Then I linked the BlackBerry 6710 to the new Personal Folder and the result is that I can file messages and the device is stable. So, I'm a very happy camper.

It is interesting that the old (large) Personal Folder that caused so many problems for the 6710, seemed to work fine using the 957 and BlackBerry 2.1 software.
