Hi guys,
What I think you are both looking for is inforrmation on WiFi Networking. I'm posting a thread below that gives an excellent overview of WiFi and BlueTooth. You will be one step closer to your goals.

Thanks to Dr. Mud.

The link to the article pretty much answered all of my questions.

Since I suffer from "upgrade-itis" (every palm since my IIIe, IIIc, m505, m515...) I was ready to get the Tungsten since it had built-in Bluetooth capabilities.

The article explains that bluetooth is designed to replace cables or IR contact between handhelds and phones, printers, other handhelds, ect... The range is about 30 feet. If I have to stay that close to my computer, I might as well browse the web on it.

WiFi or 802.11b is faster and has a range of up to 900 feet. This will allow you to web browse on your handheld from your backyard, family room, etc... as long as you are within range of your base station located near your computer.

With this knowledge, I may just purchase the Wifi sled for a m515 shown on the palm website along with the base station.

I hope this helps.

Question...

If you can access your network either via bluetooth or 802.11b what acts as your web browser on your palm?

just a thought...i have an 802.11b setup and am hoping to add a bluetooth card to my m515 primarily for using with my bluetooth mobile phone.

how about a (preferably small and portable) product that bridges a bluetooth network with a wi-fi access point...an affordable one i mean...surely this would be the way to go in terms of cascading our networks and protocols and making sure the investments we make in adapters don't turn into soon-to-be-defunct reminders of our (well mine anyway) insatiable needs for supremo gadgetry.

is there one of these on the horizon?...200 quid is a lot of money for an 802.11b sled that you can't use a keyboard with...messenger programs and graffiti don't mix (actually...yahoo! messenger just gives me a fatal error when my friends list is loading but that's a different story...).

cheers,

gadgetboy.
