Does this work well with the suction cup mount inside the car? Or does it have to be outside? I would prefer to keep it inside. Would the reception be better than the internal antenna? Thanks

Thanks Holgado 04-04-2004, 09:16 AM Indeed, the Gilsson will work quite well and better than the internal one. I have it on a velcro on the dashboard near the windshield getting sats even on skyscrapers and narrow streets. sammypooodle 04-04-2004, 09:17 AM Another question....When using the Gilsson antenna do you still need to open up the internal antenna or upon connection of the Gilsson with the MCX connector that does the same thing. In other words how do you turn the gps on? holycatz 04-04-2004, 09:19 AM <Does this work well with the suction cup mount inside the car? > Works fine inside...almost always. Took Betty to show up a friend's 'Brunhilda' on how a Proper GPS guide behaves (nu BMW 740 something). The car's 'coated' windshield blocked the antenna signal completely. Imagine our surprise.... Bill H Holgado 04-04-2004, 09:19 AM The GPS gets on as soon as you connect the external antenna and you do not need to open the flip one so it is more convinient for a car mount. sammypooodle 04-04-2004, 09:21 AM Very cool. Thank you. Time to place an order for the Gilsson. Cant wait.... JK110 04-04-2004, 09:38 AM I am pretty sure that I will be ordering mine this week as well - where are you going to buy it from and how much Holgado 04-04-2004, 09:46 AM Best way is through GPSGeek website http://gpsgeek.com/ Will get the best price and a superior customer service. deerby 04-04-2004, 09:51 AM The magnet is very strong. I put mine on the roof of my truck right behind a clearance light, then routed the cable down the windshield molding through the door jam. Then I neatly tucked it in along the dash to the mounting location I have that is behind the steering wheel, between the gages. Works like a charm. rjack22 04-04-2004, 09:55 AM I don't know how you are getting reception indoors. I certainly cannot. No bars show at all indoors. PDA Street
