I've had no problems connecting into my home network with my e740, but at Starbucks I've had no luck. The tmobile tech support line has told me, twice, to download the netfront browser (popular with imode...japanese browser). They told me that e740 people have been calling up and that IE does not work on an e740 with their network. Huh? IE works with my laptop...so..I find the URL for the demo download (http://www.access.co.jp/english/ppc/agree.html) and download the zip file...but...I cannot copy the .cab file to my e740 /temp directory. Anybod else have this problem?

T-Mobile/Starbuck have "known issues" with the Toshiba e740. The T-mobile support line will tell you to download
the Netfront Browser for the Toshiba e740. (T-Mobile suggested netfront.com which did not work). Access Inc., the maker of the Netfront browser, is not equipped to deal with individual customer issues and their web pages have no mention of the problem/solution at this point. A support person there said that he would check whether or not the Netfront 3.0 browser (free for 45 days) would work on the e740 and email me - haven't heard
back. I have not tried to load the .cab files yet.

Just needed to follow the advice of another board post:

You should make sure you have installed the "Microsoft High Encryption Pack" as well.

http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/poc...oads/ssl128.asp

On issue of connection settings, you might want to refer to the following link that gives very good instructions on fool-proof set up:

http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/connectionmanager.htm

Be sure to look at section called "recommendations" this is how I have my e740 set up and it works flawlessly all the time.

Everything is working...so far: home network (linksys router/802.11), t-mobile remote access account, wireless activesync, etc. can send/rec from any account to any other.

Hi, spassmeister,

I am yet another frustrated E740/T-mobile Hotspot user.

Just checked out the website you mentioned. Shall we set all our connections to "Work settings"?

I believe all the E740/T-mobile user outthere will be very appreciated if you could share your successful settings with us.

Thank you!

It works, but to be honest, it's flakey. today I was using "home" for all settings...but I think I had set "internet" on internet settings the first time. I also need to power up/down sometimes, rescan, and reset it. Also, when I log into mail servers my connection can get diabled. each time I've reached a state where I cannot send/receive and the system believes I'm still logged in, so I can't log in either. I need to wait until it times out (3-5 minutes) and then log in again. On the laptop you get a window to log out on.

I'm sort of new at this...
you can see some details here (http://www.spassmeister.com)

hope this helps
