I'm just switching to Palm from Pocket PC (where I was using MS Outlook calendar). Is there a way to have my calendar daily entries "pop up" on my main PC desktop the way they did with Outlook now that I'm using a Palm vs. Outlook? I'm sure that it's painfully obvious by now that I am a computer novice. Thanks.

I am not sure if you are talking about the alarm time or not since I have never used Outlook, but if you are talking about it popping up at the alarm time do the following.
1. Once in the Palm Desktop click on "tools"
2. When the menu opens click on "options"
3. There you should see a tab that says "alarm", you can chose how you want it to work, all the time, just when the desktop runs etc.
I chose for it to run all the time, that way my appointments pop up on the desktop no matter what I am working on.
Another thing, I do not know how to use it, because I have never done it, but you can use Outlook as you calendar with the Palm. I am sure that DrMud or one of the other folks can tell you about that.
Hope this helps and have a good day,
Calvados

You can use Outlook with the Palm. On the Palm Install CD you will find a folder with Chapura Pocket Mirror (the conduit to Outlook). YOu can install Pocket Mirror and go back to using Outlook just as you were with the other palmtop.

the Palm desktop to Outlook except for that one feature. Is there a way to have the Palm desktop emulate that feature of Outlook -- having the calendar entries for the day popup on any screen, but at the beginning of the day -- not at the alarm time? Second question: if I choose to go back to Outlook, is there a way to transfer or sync the info. from my Palm desktop to Outlook without having to reenter new info. that has been added since leaving Outlook for Palm?
Thanks for your help.

I believe the Palm Desktop only loads the event with the alarm.
If you hot syn your Palm to the desktop then install the Pocket mirror conduits and hot sync again your information will load to OutLook. If you have any doubt simply right click the HotSync manager ICON on the PC, go to Custom, and highlight your calendar, contacts, tasks and notes one at a time and change then to "HandHeld overwrites Desktop." Click on Done and do a HotSync. After the Sync you may want to check the settings just to be sure the default has become "Synchronize the Files."

PS: You can also make a one-time change by going to Chapura settings but this should be more familiar.
