Well I was really hoping I was in the clear. Eventhough I had zapped my iQue a few times with static it still seemed to be working ok. I've had it since Christmas.
I updated to R3, still working. Then last week, I gave it a light shock.
Then went to go geocaching this weekend, and nothing, not a satellite in the sky (according to my iQue). The minute I plugged in the Gilsson, I had 12 sats. I moved locations several times and even ended up in a place with a great view of the horizon and sky, and after minutes of searching my iQue asked if I was indoors :(
How do I RMA it? I remember reading somewhere here, but now can't find it, something specific to asking Garmin about shipping?
How long do they usually have it? I've become attached, I really don't want to give it up.
Thanks - Diana
It will take no longer then a week
call 18008001020, option 2 They will replace it, He will ask you serial #
They are replacing the older units, they have new hardware in place now. I just did mine about a week ago.
Make sure you get the airborne account # for when you send it to them, I sent it 1 day, and if you don't say anything for the return, they will do ups ground. If you call them when they have it, you can get them to return it 1 or 2 day air.

Well I'm trying to get through to Garmin, but each time I call I've got a 30+ minute wait time.
Guess alot of people are having some iQue problems.

They would not give me the Airborne Acct#.
His words "all warranty repairs, you must pay to have it shipped to us, but we pay for it being shipped back to you".
When I asked about how it was being shipped back, he said "It will be shipped back Airborne Express".
Interesting...
I just did mine last week and he gave me there account # to ship to them, and this would be my third time, and all 3 times they gave me there account #...
This last time, they shipped it back to me ups ground, which was no big deal.
Guess it depends on who you speak too..

I talked to a friend who also had to RMA his iQue and he too got an account number from them.
So I'm on hold right now calling back to talk to someone, and get an account number.
I love my iQue, but why should I be paying shipping on a product that is broken.
Hopefully someone will answer before they close today.

1 Hour on Hold
And I was told they do not give shipping account numbers to pay for items to be shipped back unless it's an extenuating circumstance, where this is the 3rd or more times a person has RMA'd their iQue.
I mentioned to Bob that I knew several people who have RMA'd their iQues and were given a shipping account so they could send it back.
Garmin's solution is they are sending me a call tag, once I get it, I call Airborne who will come and pick up the package and take it back to them.
So to count my total minutes on hold today with Garmin, I've 90 minutes listening to classical music.
BTW- Zilt
Thank you for all the info, it was very helpful!
You are most welcome, Good luck....
You will be happy with the newer unit when you get it.

How should you pack up your iQue for RMA? In the original box? A smaller box?

well i just called to RMA my 9020xxxx and they must contact the original owner to make sure it is ok that i go ahead and send it in, and have the warranty transferred to me. They really wanna make sure i did not steal it. Oh well.. the rep is going to call me back. I did not even get a shock or a zap or nothing, my internal antenna just died.

I communicated with Garmin by email, and asked that they pay both ways. By US mail, they sent me an Airborne pre-paid label, and return was also by Airborne. Total round-trip time: 1 week (not counting US mail of label).
