Hey everyone, i've already been thru one RMA of my iQue, but this time, my auto nav kit is not sending power. I checked the connection in the car: works, i checked the cradle to see if it was the Q: works, so i have come to deduce that the autonav kit is in need for a trip to garmin. Now heres my question:
Will garmin RMA parts like the autonav kit?
Has anyone experienced issues like this before?
I took apart the cradle (dont tell garmin, thell void my waranty), and it seems like one of the wires got ripped off. I tried touching it to the plate and gluign it, but it didnt work...

well touch wood, both of mine have been running strong for about 6 months now. One of them gets moved around quite a bit, but the other one, which uses the GPSV adhesive mount is never moved.

I don't see why Garmin shouldn't RMA the auto nav kit. Go for it.
Do we get to buy only the cradle with the car adaptor/speaker portion of the auto nav kit ? I want a second one for my other car and don't need the bean bag or the receptacle in the bean bag that accepts the auto nav cradle.

Not sure, they sell just the bean bag:

and they sell a suction mount that actually looks kinda cool:

but its just as expensive as the autonav kit. I emailed them, and will post up the response to it...i guess my ique will not be navigating anytime soon!

oops, didn't mean it that way at all :p I've just been lucky I guess.
I would still RMA the thing. Those kits aren't cheap, and they should hold up.

Nate,
The cheapest I got for the auto nav mount with charger/speaker is at GPSCity, but it comes with a suction mount which I don't really need. Here is the link....

Aargh! I just now ordered it with GPSCity and they are shipping it now. I ordered the battery pack as well. Planning ahead for the long weekend of geocaching.

I went to go RMA my auto nav kit due to a bent pin. Garmin is actually sending me a new auto nav kit, no RMA required. In the same request I had my Q and the auto nav kit with problems, they RMA'd the Q and never replied to the aut nav kit. So I followed up and they told me that they were shipping one to my address. For $70, the auto nav kit should be able to take a beating. Getting tossed in bags, trunks, dash boards, and wherever else we want to stick it. :D
