Can anyone recommend a good database program which works for BOTH desktop and Tungsten E? It would be preferable to have one which can import/export Excel files. Thank you!

There are a couple:

MobileDB -- which I use, can import/export to Excel, which I have done

HanDBase -- I haven't used

Documents to Go -- can import/export to Excel -- only works with Windows OS on desktop computer, tho'

HTH!!:D

If you have a PC, the greatest I've found is HandBase. Excellent support as well. A very friendly/cooperative yahoo group too. The Mac offers a desktop with somewaht less options than PC.

I have used others, but I find them extremely limited by comparison. I export mostly to FileMaker and Excel. FileMaker Mobile has been around awhile without any major improvements, I stayed away from it for that reason.

IMHO, go to DDH software and download a 30 day trial. I see it as a matter of deciding what suits my needs. Some people need more options, some do not need them at all.

Many thanks for the recommendations about HanDBase. I had forgotten all about it!

ThinkDB provides a desktop companion to its palm OS apps. It fairly easy to use too.

Enjoy your palm!
