Synchronisation of Notes Mail, ToDO, AddressBook, DocsToGo, ... all works fine, Notes Calender always reports Synchrinisation failed... On loy book I can see information being exchanged, on the Palm the Date Book remains empty... Very annoying...

Hi,
I am going to need more info. If I ask a silly question it is just to make sure we are on the same page.

Have you looked in the HotSync Conduit Manager to see how the Notes and Calendar are set to sync? (PS: right click the HotSync icon, click Custom)

Are you syncing with OutLook or Palm Desktop?

Can you post the text of your last HotSync log to this thread?

Dear DrMud,

Synchronisation with Notes Calender is achieved through Synchronistion of the Lotus Notes Calender files and the Palm DateBook is achieved using Slow Sync.

The log is shown hereunder:

Marc,
Have you ever used EasySync with your Lotus Notes?
That conduit can cause the very type of problem you are experiencing.
Just in case I'm leaving a link for you to review.
Your HotSync log doesn't point to a problem!?

Easy Sync Issues (http://www.geocities.com/helphand1/faq_pg11.htm)

Dear DrMud,
I am indeed using EasySync for Lotus Notes...
The only error message in the log is "Notes Calender synchronization failed", while on the PC screen in can witness the palm exchanging data...
The weirdest thing is that it has worked before...
Maybe I can just try to delete the PdaMap on the PC and the DateBook file on the Palm.
Any other ideas?
It's quite frustrating because on one hand the Calender function is crucial while on the other hand all other functions (including DocsToGo, PDF, Pics,... work perfectly.
Like to hear any suggestions.
Regards,
Marc

Marc,
I am inclined to encourage you to delete the Palm file and leave PDAMap on the PC.
It is not clear to me why the creator ID conflict brings this on but the article makes it appear that the issue is at the Palm end of the conduit.
Did you read any of the article by Barry Ku on the IBM Developer Domain? Did any of that discussion seem relevant?

Dear DrMud,
I read the article and it is encouraging me to dump the Palm files. Does anyone have an idea on which files I should delete. I intend to use "FileZ" to do this job. OK?
I'll try it and report back on the results.
PS Taken into account the time difference between you in Florida and me in Europe, you'll probably read the result together with this response.
See you,
Marc

I've had this problem several times, myself. Do you have any repeating calendar entries? If so, have any changed to exist outside of a normal repeating pattern? (i.e. do you have a meeting repeating every 2 weeks, but had to change one of them) If so, you can try copying that particular meeting by using the Copy Into -> New Memo, or by deleting that meeting altogether. It should work fine if it's deleted and then re-added on it's own.

I apologize if this sounds confusing. I'm still trying to get my RDA of caffeine. If it does not make sense, please post again and I'll try to reiterate.

Good luck!

Dear lummox and DrMud,
After cheching in detail through my Notes Calender and deleting repeating entries and a Save Replication error in there, the synchronization went perfectly.
lummox, hope you had some caffeine by now...
Many thanks for your assistance.
Enjoy your day.
