hey guys

i'm after some advice on which phone to choose

i think i've narrowed it down to the SonyEricsson P800, P900 or Nokia 6600...but i'm not sure from there

i'm after a smartphone that's a phone 1st and a PDA 2nd. i wanna calendar, email/web access, mp3 player, camera, video cam and audio recorder, with MMC compatibility, bluetooth etc

my wife has a Tungsten T2, so i'd like it to be able to sync (calendar, address bk etc) with the T2

The Nokia 6600 is about the same price as the P800 here, so i guess i'm wondering whether i get the 6600 or the P800, or whether i look at the more expensive P900...or even maybe look at another phone out there

any help would be very much appreciated

TIA

Interesting choice.

First thing is I believe is that your wife's tungsten has a Palm OS compared to the Symbian os of all 3 phones you're looking at. Data exchange may not be easy. If it is crucial you may want to add the Treo 600 or the Treo 270 to the list of phones you're considering as they are Palm os.

My concern about the 6600 is that it does not seem to be touch-screen sensitive and you have to enter all your on the move data by the numberic keyboard. Both the p800 and p900 have a stylus and touch screen and either with handwriting recognition or with a virtual keyboard, data entry is more fluid. I believe the Tungsten is so. The Treos are a hybrid enjoying both a minuture real keyboard as well as touch sensitive screen. However I've concluded that it is not comfertable switching to and fro between the keyboaard and the stylus to enter data. Don't think that my next phone will be a Treo.

However I believe that the 6600 packs much more functional punch than in cases the p900.

I've have a similar dilemma and want to upgrade from the antiquated palm based treo 180 with its poorly designed sim door. I am prepared to transfer over to a symbain phone even though my wife has a Zire 71 and we will not be able to beam over games anymore!!

I am comparing the p900 to the 6600. But finall I think I'll wait for Nokia's 7700 that has still to be released.

I bought the 6600 expecting the BT to work with my TT3 as it did with my Nokia 6310i.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!

There are not any drivers for the 6600 and Palm so I have lost my use of SnapperMail and WebPro on the TT3.

The 6600 is a good phone but usless BT!!!!!
