If you have tried to Hard Reset it and it didn't work, the only other thing I suggest is to remove the battery, wait a moment and put it back in.

............it says use only a USB connection else problems can occur. Even then, you're supposed to turn off power management on the PC and even screensavers. The update process does not like interuptions it would appear.
I'd try redoing the process with a USB connection. If you have a brick [ie. completely non functioning iPaq], you may have to send it back to HP to revive it first...............

Hey I'm sorry Badruddin but I had exactly the same problem with my h1940, i followed everything the error screen said and got nowhere. The device cannot be hard reset or recovered from a back up because the ROM has been partialy written over. i e-mailed HP support and they were useless and just e-mailed me back weaker advice than what i had already attempted, after 30 minutes on the phone with HP they said I'd have to send it back to be reflashed, it only took 5 days from UPS picking up to delivering, so it wasn't that bad.
I was pretty annoyed about the fact that I am locked into using HP to install the software I own a license to, even more annoyed when they sent the device back without the update, it was re-installed at v1.00:mad: but anyways at least its working, lol I felt like crying when i first held the brick!
Good luck

I bought a TUNGSTEN T3 yeaterday and I guess i should have bought it earlier instead of iPAQ.(dumb)The Palm OS is much faster and easier to operate.Still I haven't told my wife about the price i.e. $400 but i am satisfied that I have a machine i can rely on.In fact I wanted to buy T3 but then it was not available in Karachi so I went for iPAQ any way i will be leaving for the U.K. soon so I will try to get it replaced or repaired there.Any experience or comments about HP's renowned expertise in the UK.Let me know. Thanks again.Keep adding ur comments

I live in the UK and HP were pretty good, e-mail was useless and more of a formality, but the phone response was great. Fast pick up and delivery!

Yeah heres the numbers they gave me:
(+44) 0870-559-2000 or (+44) 0870-842-2339
One of them didn't seem to work though, I couldn't get through the automated system and it offered the wrong options, for devices such as notebooks, I think it was the first. Anyways theres a whole list of numbers at:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/uk/en/contact/phone_assist.html#section1
Hope you never need to use them:p
I'm having probs with Packard Bell at the moment, never ever buy a laptop from them!
