I just got my Treo 600 last week.
Synced up fine, but now every time I hit the home key it performs a soft reset!
I hard reset, it works. I sync up again, it doesn't.
Any ideas?

There is a software conflict with some "new" software that's been installed probably.

You can delete a file called "Saved_Preferences.prc" and this will clear the errant problem but it will also cause loss of some software registration codes.

What I would suggest is make a backup copy of the following:

C:\program files\palm\SR (or your user name\backup.

You can simply copy and rename it to backupold. Then delete the files in the current backup directory. Hard reset.

Then go to this backupold directory and start adding back in programs one at a time. Sync after adding in the programs. All you need to do is double click on the files in the backupold folder. Try and match up the similar named files incase their is more than one for the new programs. To keep it clear on the desktop, once you've double clicked on these file you might want to delete them from the hard drive to avoid confusion. They'll move to the backup directory after the sync anyway.

My 2 cents.

...nothing much more to add, other than the freeware app "Today" seemed to cause this problem on my Treo on occasion...

The fix worked perfectly. I just left everything in the backupold folder, haven't tried moving them one by one and syncing yet, so I don't know what caused the problem, but it works now!
