Problems with m130

A friend gave me an m130 that has some problems. The palm will only work on the cradle. As soon as I take it off it goes dead. It will NOT turn back on or do any resets while off the cradle. I suspect a dead battery, and have found some for around $30. Should I try to replace the battery? It syncs fine with OS 10.3.3, but when I take it off the cradle for more than say an hour all data is lost. Any suggestions?? I am new to palms!

Have you left it on the cradle for a few hours to make sure it's fully charged? If not, try that. If you have, then the battery could well be dead. If you're confident about opening the m130's case and attempting the battery change, it's worth a try if the $30 battery is good.

The battery is probably just worn out since it's not holding a charge. It happens. Go buy that new one & CAREFULLY replace it :)
