Can someone please tell me the difference between a Secure Digital card and a MultiMedia Card?

I would like to easily backup ALL the data on my Palm but the inbuilt Palm COPY function only copies main programs and databases. It doesn't copy even the Address Book database, nor any READ files (of which I have many). Am I missing something?

Is there a third party software (pref Freeware) that can do this in a blink?

Thanks

SD and MMC cards are similar--same size (except that MMC cards are thinner), but the SD card has a built-in controller chip that allows access to portions of the memory to be denied (for instance, if the card contains a built-in app and it's supposed to be copy-protected). Read/write access to SD cards is also faster than for MMC cards. MMC are also cheaper for a given memory capacity.

There are many programs that will let you back everything up onto a card. The built-in Palm "copy" function wasn't meant for that anyway. BackupBuddy VFS comes to mind, and I'm sure there are others--in a pinch, the freeware programs FileZ and FileProg would work but you have to manually select all the files to be copied to the card if you use those.

Helpful Tip: In FileZ, you can choose Select All from the menu to select all files on your RAM memory.
