ActiveSync wont install...:(

PLEASE HELP AND I WILL BE ETERNALLY GREATFULL!!

ActiveSync hangs at 92% of the install.

Ive tried a newer version of ActiveSync Install.
Ive tried installing under another windows profile.
Ive tried installing under Windows Safe Mode (& Network Support).

Im running Windows 2000 SP4 on a sony Vaio Laptop. Im thinking that my last resort is to upgrade to Windows XP...

any suggestions? Please help :(

Olit,

Do you have antivirus software running during the install? I would try installing with the antivirus software disabled. I think I had something similar happen when I first got my Ipaq.

You might also want to take a look at item #10 on the following website from Chris Herrera where it talks about activesync locking up around 91% install. He also provides some other solutions that might help.

I tried what it said but unfortunatly it didnt work, however, it does now.

I developed my own fix by removing the faulty file (WCEUSBBSH.INF) from the main SETUP.INF, then copied the drivers (WCEUSBBSH.INF & .SYS) manually from the newer setup into the installation path :)
