Hi,
I had a problem syncing my iPaq3630 to my laptop after initially setting it up and working well.
Have uninstalled and downloaded Active Sync again and soft reset my device.
Now it's working again....at least for now.
Have seen in an earlier post where someone fixed the problem by placing a checkmark at the "USB key" in HKEY CURRENT USER......in the PMH RegEdit.
So, I have downloaded it but now I can't find it anywhere (laptop or iPaq)
The download icon is on the desktop and tells me that it's installed sucessfully but I can't get to the point where I can open it to make the change.
Got any ideas???? I'm using WinXP Home on laptop and ipaq OS vers. 3.0
Sorry 'bout being longwinded.

Which version did you download, desktop installer or cab file(ppc2002/2003 ARM/PXA)?

I have downloaded the Windows Installer version.
PHM Registry Editor 0.70 for mobile devices.

It does not show up in the programs panel or in the "Add /Remove" panel
on the laptop.
I can't find it on the iPaq either.

The PHM Reg. Edit. shows up as an icon on the laptop desktop and when I click on it
it tells me that it's installed sucessfully but that I can't run it unless the mobile device is hooked up. Yet, when I do that I still can't find it.
So, I will be grateful for any suggestions you have.

Make sure you have activesync installed on the desktop, connect the ipaq to the desktop, make sure activesync is running, then click the installer, activesync should install the program to the ipaq.

Thanks for your suggestion.
While syncing and while still being connected I tried to install it again.
Now it shows up in the "Add/Remove"
on the laptop.
Shouldn't it be on the iPaq?
If so, where would I find it? I have looked everywhere....
Again, if you have any thoughts on this
I'll appreciate it.

Typically if it's installed correctly, the program sould be in Start--Programs. You can try download the .cab version and install it instead. Here's full instruction on installation on both version, you may want to go through it and see if you missed anything.

--Cabinet or .cab files are installed from your Pocket PC. To install a .cab file:

Connect your Pocket PC to your computer and be sure that ActiveSync opens.

If you have chosen to sync Files, drag the .cab files from your computer to the "Pocket PC My Documents" folder on your desktop. Or open the ActiveSync window on your PC and click Explore. Then copy the file from your PC to the Pocket PC's Explorer window.

On your Pocket PC, go to Start > Programs > File Explorer. Using the main window and the hierarchical menu in the upper left hand corner, go to the folder where the .cab file now exists.

Tap on the .cab file and it should now install the application on your Pocket PC.

--Executable or .exe files are installed from you desktop. To install an .exe file:

Connect your Pocket PC to your computer and be sure that ActiveSync opens.

Click on the .exe on your desktop and it should launch an installer.

Follow the steps in the installer wizard (if there are any).

If your Pocket PC is connected, an Add/Remove Programs window should open up on top of the ActiveSync window. If it this window doesn't open, go to Tools > Add/Remove Programs... and check the box next to any applications you'd like to install.

In the dialog box, uncheck "Install program into the default installation folder" if you want to install the application onto a memory card. Then choose the appropriate location from the next drop down menu.

After the application has been transferred to your Pocket PC, you will see a dialog asking you to check your device for further instructions.

In most cases you will not need to do anything on your Pocket PC, but check it just in case you need to reset or configure your device.

Anser Dude, thank you for taking the time to write the detailed instructions.

I have downloaded the PHM RegEdit.
to the iPaq.
All folders are there, incl. the
EULA. When I click setup I get the message that it is not " a valid WinCE
Application"
Got any thoughts on that?
Thanks for your help.:(

Please read the instruction above carefully again, there are 2 versions of this program, if you download installer (.msi) run it on the desktop and follow the instruction above, if you download .cab file then follow the other instruction above.
