Whats the deal, all I see is CF slots for these Pocket PC devices??!! Where are the PCMCIA slots? I want the Verizon PCMCIA DV-DO cartds to surf at 300k, or even the AT&T Cards that surf at 140k!!!

Why do I need a sled? or a CF cable converter or whatever?

Several ipaq models (3600,3700,3800,3900,5400,5500) can accept pcmcia expansion pack/sleeve that will let it use pcmcia card.

But isn't that sled just a big hunk o' plastic with a CF card built in that translates to PCMCIA?

Are there NO Pocket PC or Palm devices that just use PCMCIA? Cause those sleds are expensive, can I use the CF to PCMCIA card cables I see on the UK sites for $19 POUNDS??

No, it's a full pcmcia slot, in fact it's the other way around, you can use cf card with adapter with it. It's a little big, but the current version comes with it's own battery, so it will help the usage time a lot, especially something like a wifi card;
