cannot install/run applications!!

Hi there! I have an annoying problem with my iPaq... Maybe its just becos I am a newbee but I just cant install or/and run applications on my iPaq. The pda is a brand new 3970 iPaq and it works great. Yesterday I wanted to install on it some applications but each time I copy the install or exe file on my pda and I try to run it it pop ups an error messagge saying: ""xxx" is not a valid Pocket PC application." Now I dowloaded the application from this site:http://www.ipaqsoft.net/php/freeresults.php?type=games which is an iPaq site.. so theres probably not a matter of compatibility...
So please if anyone knows what should I do or what am I doing wrong help me in this matter...

You will find very few programs to run like that in your ipaq. What you have to do first is install activesync in your desktop computer (it comes in the cd's you got with your ipaq) to establish connection between the two (desktop and ipaq). Then you execute every program you want to install (in your ipaq) in the desktop PC first.This way programs are automaticaly installed in the ipaq through activesync.
