a/b/g are just different protocals and speeds for 802.11. B is 11mbps, G is 54mbps, and A I don't know off hand. All of them are WiFi/WLAN(same thing). Bluetooth is just a 5.8 ghtz like a cordless phone but its a plug and play protocal, at least thats the way it's supposed to work but I have yet to see it.

so theoreticly a cordless phone signal and a Bluetooth signal should both loose strength over the same duration and environment?

Im toying with the idea of pur/chasing a Centrino Laptop and a WiFi CF card... would the signal strength from a centrino laptop be strong enough to replicate over a standard 4 bedroom house?

It depends on the layout of the house, the materials used to build the house & how much interference (wiring in the walls) there is weather or not you will be able to recieve a usable signal throughout your house. You *should* not have a problem, but without more info it is hard to say for certian (and sometimes even with more info it's hard to say either way with 100% certainty.
