Hi,
A Psion user's nightmare: the screen cable broken. I only see some horizontal lines on my screen, no matter how much I fiddle with it.
What I like to do next is obvious: try to backup the thing. I made a backup recently, but if possible I'd like to salvage my recent changes too.
BUT ... how to switch on the serial link if you can't see something on the screen? Is there a keystroke or something to do this?
Regards,
Maurice.

When in the system screen plress Control+L to open the link dialog. Press the right cursor key once to select a cable connection and then press Enter to close the dialog and start the connection itself.

Tap the "System" icon to be sure you are in the System screen.
[Ctrl-L] to open the Link dialog box
[C] to select "Cable"
[Down arrow] to move to the baud rate line
[5] to select 57600 baud
[Enter] to close the dialog box and activate the Link.
Use a speed of 57600 because [1] could set either 19200 or 115200. If necessary, set PsiWin to 57600 too.

Thanx everyone fot helping me out. I managed to make a fresh backup this morning ... after I realised that I had to type in my password beforehand ;)
