When my Ipaq 4155 is in it's cradle, it's always turned on - even if I turn it off, it will eventually turn on (I'm sure this is an activesync setting). So, 2 questions:
1. Is it bad fot the unit to be on that long? i.e screen damage or something?
2. Is there a way for it to be in the cradle, charging, but have the power off? (my best guess was basically to turn activesync off, however you do that)
Thanks in advance.

I have a 4150 and I had the same worries.
1. These are high quality TFT LCD screens so you shouldn't worry about burning the images onto the screen. I've had a cheap pair of 7" lcd's in my car visors, and I left a still image on too long and it burned a slight image ghost. Luckily the manufacturer stood behind their product and gave me a refund. But the iPaq should be fine.
2. To be able to turn the pda off and keep it off, go into activesync on your desktop.
(Make sure your PDA is in the cradle, on, and connected)
Tools -> Options -> Schedule:
- under desktop schedule, you should choose whatever you want. it's your preference on how you want to sync stuff. I kept it on manual just because I like to control that stuff.
- under Server Schedule, select manually. I can't remember what the default was, but it would sync ever set amount of minutes (ie. turning the PDA on if off)
- under Wireless schedule, set it to manual as well. This is if you use BT or wi-fi to sync your PDA (which is pretty darn convenient)
Hope this helps.

Kill ActiveSync at the bottom of the page.
