Installing New Themes

I need some help! Everytime i sync a theme to my Ipaq 3650...I can never open it! As told...I go to Settings, then to Today...and nothing can be found except the default. I have the .tsk file in my Templates file. Dont know what else to do! Any help would be great! THanks

Themes feature is available only in pocketpc 2002 and up. It's possible that your ipaq's still running pocketpc2000.

How do I check this? It is OS 3.0...

If you go to Start-Setting-Today and you only have 1 screen with items(date, today title bar, owner info, ...) then you still have 2000. In 2002 and up there are 2 screens, 1 for items and 1 for themes and wallpaper appearances.

I am 99.9% it has 2002 installed...is there any suggestions???

From the Today screen...It actually goes straight to an Open prompt (which has folder and type underneath it) so mayber it is 2000! But the person I got it from said that he installed 2002 right before he gave it to me! Any suggestions from here!

OK...I do have two screens...one says Appearance (which has default and then you can browse for other ones in my files) and the other screen is titled items (with all owner info, date,etc).
Back to Appearance, whenever i go to browse for my.tsk file...it does not show up, but it is in My Documents! I have tried the instructions, that you gave, and it still doesnt work...I am just lost!!!! If there is anything else that you can think of...please advise! Thanks for your help!

The only other thing i can think of is try soft reset it (push and release the little recessed button at the bottom of the unit) and see if it shows up.

No Luck! Dont know what to do...but thanks anyway! It just doesnt seem to be recognizing .tsk files!

Sorry to jump in here, to definitively check to see if you have PPC 2000 or 2002 - go to Start / Settings / System / About.

If it has Version:
3.0.9348 Build 9351 (Pocket PC 2000 original version)
3.0.9348 build 9616 (Pocke PC 2000 newest iPAQ version)
3.0.11171 Build 11178 (Pocket PC 2002)

Also - the instructions that AnswerDude gave should get it going from there, if it's in fact 2002. I always put mine in \My Documents - and they always work, plus get synchronized with files.

try putting the tsk files in the folder called windows. That is where yoor themes are installed (included MS ones)
