Customer code ????

I finally got a 'CitySlect-Europe' from a guy who let his 'Q' fell in a small river while Geocaching. :(
So he sold me the mapsource (original CD) with the yellow slip. :D

So my question is when I unlock my Q on the Garmin's unlock site , am I now a new customer or a returning-customer .
If now I am a returning customer what code on the yellow slip is my customer code ?????

Log in to Garmin's site, as a returning customer, using the registration code on the yellow slip. If the prior user didn't register, then try loggin in as a new customer instead.

If he did register, then use the option to get a second code for your iQue. Now there may be a problem, if you have registered your iQue as well, since then the registered owner of the CD and the iQue aren't the same. I don't know, since I haven't done any transaction like this before.

If he didn't register, you have to register the CD with the intended iQue first, then get the second code for your iQue.

He told me that he never registered his Q on Garmin's site , he only used the 25 digit code on the yellow slip , and the same for me I've never registered my Q on Garmin's site.

OK. You have to register his, to his now dead iQue, first, or you'll not be able to get hold of the second code, which should be set up to match your iQue.

After that, I think you can get unlock code number two for your iQue, even if you haven't registered that unit. I base this on the fact that I got code number two, so that I can use CS 6 with my Vista, without ever registering the Vista on Garmin's site.
