Hi,

I've been trying to look for the same problem on this forum but I thinked I've looked for too long.

Here is my problem. Sometimes my IPAQ 2210 hangs when I click anywhere (Start Menu, Seligman's Launcher, PHM TrayLaunch, Inbox, etc). It even hangs when it's on the cradle after 15 minutes or so, sometimes. The worst thing that happened is it hanged after I used it, placed it on my leather case and go about with what I do, 2 hours later the battery is totally drained.

Here is the specs of my IPAQ 2210 and hopefully someone could help me out to figure what makes this PPC hang.

IPAQ ROM 1.10
WISBAR Advance 1.3.2.1
HP SDIO Update
Calendar+ Plug-in 2.1.3
PHM Tools
Agenda Fusion v6
TaskPlus v1.39
QOTD
PHM WMP Control

I hope anyone can help me out, I can live with the occassional soft reset (but I hope I can get rid of this) but I worry about the battery draining out (the screen doesn't turn off when it hangs).

Thanks

This is an absolute shot in the dark but have you tried the following.

http://www.scarybearsoftware.com/ppc_cn_overview.html

There is a bug in the 2003 OS which leaves multiple notification events every time you perform a soft reset. Eventually causing the system to slow down. I don't know if this will be of any help since your unit is actually hanging, but it is worth a shot.

I also noticed that Wisbar Advance is having a problem with a memory leak as described in the forum on their website. http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=257 Maybe you are simply running out of memory causing it to hang.

Have you tried performing a hard reset and installing the programs one by one to see which one is the culprit? I know this would be tedious but could be your last resort.

I have to say that my ipaq used to do this 'often' before for no apparent reason..it could be after a night of charging. I thought it was my ipaq and even called HP about it once to complain. They just made me do a hard reset (i.e take out battery for 10 minutes, press two buttons together, yada yada) but this didn't resolve it..after paying so much for it, I thought I made a mistake of purchasing an expensive model...it was just unacceptable to have to reset at least once a week for me.

Since I bought OmegaOne BatteryPack and Journal Bar, I've never had this reset/locking issue....I don't know if it was a coincidence or not but maybe you can try it and see?

I'm now able to close open programs, close out unused memory etc so I think Battery Pack did save me...

I have the notification fix installed. So definitely it may be something else that is causing this.

I'm planning to have the hard reset this weekend. It usually takes me a day to keep track of everything that I have to back-up and do the hard reset just so I don't miss anything.

I'm checking up on Wisbar too. It may be causing this frequent hang. I'm not looking into investing too much for OmegaOne just to resolve this problem. Hopefully a hard reset will do, I hate it when I do this, just did the reset a month ago.
