R380 on the CA/NV Cingular WAP network

Ericsson R380 World handset are being dumped on several online auctions sites(<US$100).

Although not supported (and apparently not wanted) these older handsets work as advertised on the CA/NEV Cingular Wap network.

If anyone is playing with one of these cheap smartphones, having troubles provisioning the handset and would like to connect to the Cingular network in CA/NEV please reply to this thread.

I'll try to help or will simply post the settings on this thread.

Work with no hassel in Canada on the GSM rogers network although WAP isn't working :-(

I've used the MIcrocell SIM in it aswell its 100% supported aswell

Matt remember that handset's O/S is not JAVA enabled.

You might also try using a regular dialup ISP for WAP surfing. Simply provision the "service provider" section with a dialup ISP and then use the "open location" screen to go direct to a WAP site or portal that is not JAVA enabled.

Ebay, UPS tracking and FedEx tracking are easily reachable this way. Many of the more modern (JAVA enabled) WAP sites are not however including Yahoo, AOL and MSN.
