5mx+nokia 6150+phoneman+cabl connection

Can I connect 5mx to PC with cable to com1, Nokia 6150 to PC with cable to com2, and access Nokia thy 5mx with PhoneMan?

Logical answer is: why not use ir? Well look like ir on my 5mx is defect. :(

I think you would be better connecting the 5mx and Nokia directly by cable using:

1) The PsiWin serial cable
2) The Nokia PC data cable
3) Null modem adapter or cable
4) Any gender changers or serial adapters to get the other bits connected.

If you want to do this to connect to the internet then I would point out that the 6150 does not have a modem, so it won't work. You could use Psion's Travel Modem and 6150 cable to do this (and I have both if you are interested in buying). However, really you are better off with another phone like a 6210.

OTOH, if you want to control the phone itself, then all you need is the cable and suitable software. I'd be interested to know if you can do that.

By the way. If the IR seems defective you can check it by looking at the IR window with a video camera. You should see the light flashing - the camera can see into the infrared further than the human eye. A useful test.
