Hi: Everyone~~
I'm new in the PDA world...
So.. first of all, I just bought an open item e805 for trying ..
And most of the time I will use it for GPS navigation...

Since e805 has a such big ram (128mb) vs. T3 64mb..
I am a liittle bit worry about if 64mb is not sufficient for "Mapopolis",,,,
Even I don't think it matter...
Because I can load bunch of counties ( more than 30) and the whole nation mayjor road for 61mb....
But just look at the munber....64 vs 128...
And the price........399 vs 599........

So is that T3 good for GPS??
I really like the style of the palm PDA, in my opinion, much better than Pocket pc....
thanks....

Since you've got the "open" e805 (probably at a good price), then keep it with the 128MB for navigation and mapopolis & stuff.

The T3 could be for everything else?

Last time I checked maps on the SD Card had to be imported to RAM for mapopolis to read them, but I use a great product called TealAlias which might solve your problem. It allows you to store Mapopolis and the maps on the SD Card, but DESIGNATE which ones are brought in to RAM from a "pick and choose" menu when you launch mapopolis. If you don't need them all at one time joined together, that might solve the 64MB problem. By the way, it's 52MB useable - NOT 64MB.

The whole GPS thing everyone is into almost demands its own unit for all the "overhead" of such programs anyway -- you might consider the e805 for maps and the T3 for the PDA - I think I would, if I were inclined to use the GPS stuff.

I make my own maps and view them in AcidImage - they're a lot better than mapopolis and you can get them cropped to how you like them, as detailed as you like them, and then drag the map image around when you're looking for something. Just a thought.
