Treo 600 on GSM900 network

Does anyone have experience with using a Treo 600 on a GSM900 network?

In order to get service, I have to manually search the 900/1800 bands from the menu.
When the phone is turned off and then back on the same procedure has to be followed. It does not recognise the network automatically.

Requesting assistance from my provider Digicel and Palm One has proved futile.

I would suspect that the SIM card is at fault and isn't configured to work with your phone/Treo.

However, I'm speaking from experience with AT&T and non Treo phones. I had that problem occur with my T68i initially. The SIM card wasn't correctly configured and the phone would search for ever.

But, I have no experience with Digicel? and wasn't aware that the Treo supported that network or device.
